FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION
4/25/2026
Last night, while traveling with my children on Metro, we were the victims of a violent and unprovoked assault that endangered all four of our lives. This incident is not isolated — it is part of a repeated pattern of violence and harassment my family has experienced on Metro, and the lack of protection is now a public safety failure.
During our ride, an adult woman — tall, African American, approximately in her 30s, wearing a pink bonnet — launched a sudden and violent attack on my family.
This was a targeted, violent act against a mother and her children in a public transit environment where safety should be guaranteed.
This is not the first time my family has been attacked or placed in danger on Metro. We have reported multiple incidents, and the pattern is clear: Metro has failed to protect riders, especially families and children.
No parent should have to document their children being maced and hit in the head just to be taken seriously.
I am calling on Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) and relevant local authorities to:
Assaulting children is a crime. Failing to investigate it is negligence.
This incident falls under the authority of:
These agencies have the power to bring charges, open investigations, and ensure that Metro is held accountable for its failure to protect riders.
I am urging local journalists, community advocates, and public safety leaders to:
My children deserve justice. Our community deserves safety. Metro must answer for its failures.
UPDATE
5/6/26
Our family continues to experience a pattern of violence, harassment, and institutional failure that cannot be ignored or minimized. What happened on Metro was not an isolated event — it is part of a broader, ongoing campaign of intimidation, surveillance, and harm that has gone unaddressed by the very agencies responsible for public safety.
On the night of the incident, my children — ages 19, 11, and 8 — were maced, hit, threatened, and terrorized while riding Metro. Despite the severity of the assault:
Closing a case where minors were maced and threatened with death — without interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, or providing updates — is not just negligence. It is a failure of duty.
Even after the Metro assault, the harassment has not stopped. We continue to experience:
These are not abstract fears. They are documented, repeated, and consistent with the same pattern of harassment we have reported for years.
Families should not be forced to live under constant monitoring, interference, and intimidation — especially after surviving a violent public assault.
Despite repeated outreach, documentation, and urgent safety concerns:
When a mother reports that her children were maced on public transit and that her family continues to be targeted, silence is not an acceptable response.
This is not just about one night on Metro. This is about:
We are documenting this publicly because the systems responsible for safety have failed to act. Transparency is the only protection left when institutions refuse to acknowledge harm.
We are calling for:
Our family deserves safety. Our children deserve protection. Our community deserves answers.
