Monique King is a community advocate, organizer, educator, and policy leader committed to building a society where dignity, safety, and opportunity are guaranteed for every person. With more than two decades of experience in health education, crisis response, community outreach, and public‑service program design, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families facing systemic barriers.
Her background is both diverse and robust — shaped by years of academic study, professional certifications, and hands‑on service. Monique is a lifelong scholar whose training spans psychology, health education, culinary arts, cosmetology, esthetics, emergency medical response, curriculum design, and community program development and many, many more. Her multidisciplinary expertise allows her to approach public policy with both analytical precision and human‑centered understanding.
Monique’s commitment to service extends far beyond her professional roles. She has volunteered extensively across the Washington, DC and Maryland region, supporting community health initiatives, youth programs, food‑security efforts, and crisis‑response outreach. Whether teaching life‑saving skills, organizing community resources, or assisting vulnerable residents during emergencies, Monique has consistently shown up where people need her most. Her volunteer work reflects her belief that leadership begins with service — and that real change starts at the community level.
Her lived experience — including years of confronting discrimination, harassment, and institutional failures — fuels her determination to reform the systems that harm vulnerable residents. She believes that homelessness, poverty, and inequity are not personal shortcomings but symptoms of policies that must be rebuilt with compassion and evidence‑based solutions.
Monique’s leadership is grounded in five core values:
Monique is running for public office to advance policies that protect human rights, strengthen community safety, and ensure that no one is left behind. Her vision is simple: a community where every person has a home, a voice, and a fair chance to thrive
